archimandrite Serafym (Pankratov)

Archimandrite Serafym (Volodymyr Borysovich Pankratov) was born on 28 February, 1975 in the city of Sumy, Ukraine. In 2000 he graduated from the Sumy Pedagogical University, majoring in history and practical psychology. Then worked as a designer in advertising agencies, participated in various publishing projects. In 2008 he became a monk and at the same time was ordained as a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. He has been the dean of the parish of Archangel Michael in the village of Zhuravne, Okhtyr district, Sumy region of Ukraine, and the head priest of Saint-Elizabeth Women's Convent of Mercy in the same village. Currently works as a senior researcher of the National Park "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra".
